The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, today announced that his Department will hold a series of 14 regional Information Meetings in relation to CAP implementation from Monday 9th March to Tuesday 31st March.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, today announced further details regarding the implementation of the Scottish Derogation Provision of the Basic Payment Regulation.

These changes will prove attractive to those landowners not previously interested in forestry. For example, a new single rate of premium has been introduced for farmers and non-farmers.

The Minister for Agriculture Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney, T.D., announced that he has decided to extend and re-focus support arrangements for farmers faced with the removal of persistently infected BVD calves born from their herds in 2015.

Please ensure that the sheep census is completed before 30^th January 2015. This is the amount of sheep on your holding on the 14^th December 2014. If posting, make sure to register post for proof of posting and keep a copy for your own records. Failure to submit the sheep census form may result in no disadvantaged area payment. Even if there is no sheep on the holding at that time, the sheep census still has to be completed or else the disadvantaged area payment may not be paid out.  

Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine would like to clarify the Brucellosis Testing Requirements for 2015

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, today announced that farmers and their agents can now submit 2015 derogation applications using the Department’s on-line facilities.
